How a Culligan water softener works
Evolife technology
Bypass kit
By simply turning the cap, the bypass kit enables you to exclude the system during certain domestic operations that do not require treated water… such as watering vegetable or flower gardens. The mechanical filter, equipped with LED backlighting, is installed upstream of the water softener and can trap residues of undissolved materials present in the water.
Countercurrent ionic exchange resin container
The water flowing through the resins softens the water thanks to the ion exchange that occurs between the calcium and magnesium ions in the water and the sodium ions present in the resin. The innovative countercurrent regeneration technology guarantees high resin performance.
Salt container
The brine formed in the salt container contributes to resin regeneration. The brine suction valve is equipped with a safety float. The salt container is provided with an “overflow” connection attached to the drain, which is used to prevent any water leaking from the salt container.
Acqua safe
What is it?
An exclusive and innovative automatic disinfection system, which ensures that the water softener is compliant with Italian Ministerial Decree 25/2012 and guarantees that the microbiological quality of the outgoing water meets the parameters set out in Italian Legislative Decree 31/2001. The system is tested by the University of Bologna, compared with other systems and found to be the most suitable.
How does it work?
The “static chlorination” method is achieved thanks to the positioning of an electrolytic cell in the brine inside the salt container. Its activation every 4 hours triggers higher chlorine production, thus obtaining greater sanitization efficiency during the regeneration, compared to the “dynamic chlorination” systems on the market.
Aqua stop
This optional device works in conjunction with the standard anti flooding system to ensure even greater safety by detecting and preventing water leaks.
